-March was kicked off by Holi, the Hindu celebration of colors. Because the festival fell on a school day, we didn't have much free time to celebrate. I did manage to enjoy the tail-end of a color and water fight at dorm level and then walked into the bazaar to see the streets (along with the cows and stray dogs) covered with patches of color.
-March 2nd brought the Onkka family (and mom's 60th birthday)! They had been in Jaipur for a few days and then came up to Mussoorie. Mom and Dad stayed with me and Laura, while Al and Leigh stayed in town. For the weekend, we headed to Rishikesh to enjoy the river and good restaurants. Before I knew it, the week was up and they were off to Delhi for their return trip home. It was so wonderful to have them here and I think they are convinced to visit for a longer period of time next time :)
-The next weekend, I went with two friends to Delhi to scout out a potential art field trip for next fall - galleries, modern art, a nice art supply shop, and lots of shopping and eating good food! I like Delhi more and more each time I go and really enjoyed seeing the art side of the city.
-Last weekend was the staff talent show - an annual event where the staff of Woodstock perform for the students. I was in two acts, both dancing: the first was a medley of hip hop songs, the second was the staff bollywood dance. Both dances were a hit!
-The end of March brought grading, grading, and more grading. On April 1, quarter break started - our only break of the semester. Laura and I are sticking around Mussoorie to recuperate after a chaotic quarter. We'll go to Dehradun for a day and then hopefully go camping with some friends.
-Also, one of my March projects was the art blog that I started for displaying student artwork at Woodstock. It has been a huge success and its been really great to hear students and staff talking about how cool each others artwork is! www.artatwoodstock.blogspot.com
Here are some photos from March:

No, not a massacre...just Holi.
